A creative electronically influenced comeback from DEL! The beats, produced mainly by DEL are more ELECTRONIC and less jazzy. Also, they seem less thick. Still, they are cool and innovative. DEL does not lack lyrically either. Though he is not as mad as he was on "No Need For Alarm", he gets more creative. Songs have many themes and humorous aspects. "Skull and Crossbones" is about drunk driving, "Soopa Feen" is about a crack-addict / superhero, "If U Must" is about people who smell and who have bad hygene, "BM's" is about smoking weed and dealing with the law..etc.. Still, there are some less humorous songs like "Proto Culture" which is about video games! Also, there are just some straight hiphop MC songs like the slamming "Jaw Gymnastics" featuring and produced by Causal. Also, "Offspring" f/El-P and the incredible "Press Rewind" produced by Domino. "Signature Slogans", produced by Prince Paul is another gem. This is a very creative and lyrically-rich album by the Funky one. Some may not warm up to it quick because it's so different from the stuff on "No Need For Alarm" and "3rd Eye Vision" by Hieroglyphics. Guests include: El-P, Casual, A-Plus, and Khaos Unique. Production is mainly handled by Del himself but some songs are produced by Prince Paul, Casual, Domino, A-Plus, and Khaos Unique. DEL seems more grounded and more mature but has not lost his sense of humor. His sense of humor actually increased. It's a full album that has been slept on. I love it! It's not a classic like "No Need For Alarm" but it's great album.
cutout cover!! seems, that this one will be out of print soon!
