Mr Fantastic (feat. Retna) – What U Rhymin’ 4? New 7”/Digital single on High Noon Music. Following the success of ‘All the Critics’ featuring J.Todd (HN020-7) released January 2011, Mr Fantastic returns with another burner! For his 2ndrelease on High Noon Music, Mr Fantastic has delved into some classic Disco Breaks to create that B-Boy Funk sound suitable to rock any dance floor, utilising heavy drums and a groove courtesy of the late 70’s, complimented by live keys from Ev Newman (Edenheight/Subversions). This time around Mr Fantastic has enlisted the help of good friend and veteran Bristol MC, Retna (Quantum Deluxe/Binary Brothers) to supply the vocals. The general theme is that of Mr Fantastic having to twist Retna’s arm into doing the rhymes on his new beat and even though he’s not necessarily in the mood, Retna pulls out a superb couple of verses, ending up with a great track. The song features some tight scratches by Mr Fantastic and in a shocking change from today’s norm the song ends with a nice long instrumental break for the B-Boys to get loose. |
