“Disco Devil” is one of the more famous roots tracks by the master dub scientist himself Lee “Scratch” Perry. It is a dub of Max Romeo’s track “Chase the Devil, a formidable track on its own, while Scratch’s version is an unmitigated slab of pure genius. The lyrics “I’m gonna dub you out of this earth” is Scratch referring to the devil, as he is gonna dub the devil out of existence with the pure force of music.
