Producer Full Crate and singer Mar are two young musicians from Amsterdam. They fuse soul music and hip-hop with a sound design that - excuse the cliché -is best described as futuristic (think Flylo and D'Angelo falling in love with dubstep b-lines while writing the score for a remake of 2001: A Space Odyssey).
"Conversations With Her" offers five deep and musical love songs including one track with Eric "Erro" Roberson. With full support from Nalden.net and Moovmnt, Crate & Mar had created a solid hype with their first song and video "She Was Fly" about a year ago.
Full Crate & Mar have been friends since high school, sharing the same passion for music. Crate has studied classical piano in Moscow and started dj-ing at a young age. Mar was raised in a musical family too and started drumming at the age of 5.
Today they are both part of the Amsterdam hip-hop / beatmaker scene. They have collaborated with artits like Versis, Sir OJ, Hayzee and Suff Daddy (to name a few). Full Crate is also working on a release for the MPM producers series "Hi-Hat Club" together with his friend FS Green.
Eric "Erro" Roberson: best known for his work work with Jazzy Jeff's A Touch of Jazz clique (check "Rok Wit U" on Jeff's "The Magnificent" album), Jill Scott and DJ Spinna. He has just released his new album "Music Fan First" on his own Blue Erro Soul imprint. His 2005 album "The Vault 1.5" has been a MPM office favourite for years. |
