Starting in 2019, San Diego DJ and producer Mike Wallace came up with the idea of starting an LP series reflecting his passion for library & film music. With no musical theory or instrument knowledge, he begun studying various instruments such as piano, guitar, bass & percussion, while also committing to weekly music lessons. With little to no knowledge of recording a studio project, Mike also took on an internship at a local recording studio. Over the course of 4 years, Mike recorded a vast amount of music reflecting various moods such as drama, tension, new age, hip hop & electronics. While these recordings do reflect inspirations from the past, they’re also a fresh & original approach from Mike as an artist of today. We present this Volume 2 in the series, Theme & Beat as an ongoing musical recording experiment, showcasing Mike’s new ideas as a producer & beat maker.
