The mix-and-match methodology goes into overdrive at Cold Busted HQ as a new 7” combines universally lauded beat maker Emapea with fiery tunes from Blue In Green and The Deli. Emapea is making serious waves after his latest albums for the label – Zoning Out Volume 1 and Seeds, Roots & Fruits – have enlisted many new fans to the Polish producer’s cause. Here he takes on Japan’s Blue In Green, transforming “Rainy Streets” into a head-nodding elevator ride to a classy high-rise penthouse. Solid drum hits and scratched horn riffs make for a pleasant journey. On the flip-side, Austin’s The Deli gets the Emapea treatment as “Flowers” is deftly remixed in a jazz-hop style. The original version was a huge track on Spotify, and Emapea respectfully lays boom-bap rhythms and deep scratches over the ghostly impression of a jazz trio fading into the distance. Lovely vibes from Cold Busted all ‘round. |
