You may not have heard of Kutcorners (aka Vancouver's Matt Perry) by name, but you've probably heard him by sound as he's been supplying those undeniable basslines for the likes of U- Tern, DJ Eleven, DJ Ayres, Keys N Krates, and Dr. J presents 1luv, as well as touring with Canada's "The Freshest" DJ Crew.
"Diamond", his first solo release, is an absolutely irresistible track that explores the foundations of 80s New Wave and Boogie and features the vocals of Curtis Santiago. Kutcorners channels the sounds of Luther Vandross, Nu Shooz, and Terry Lewis/Jimmy Jam, all the while adding a crisp production twist that'll keep modern dancefloors bumping. Also included is the instrumental on the B-Side. The track is being released digitally through DJ Eleven of The Rub's 11 Inch Records, and on 7" vinyl in a beautiful full color gluepocket for those of you who need it in your box...or your jukebox. |
