DJ Ayres’ Brooklyn-based Rub party has turned into one of the longest running and most successful nyc parties, garnering best club night awards in the local press and featuring top flight guests. For this project, Ayres gathered remixes from the Rub's resident DJs and some of those guests, giving you access to their "secret weapon" club blends previously only available as personal CDRs. Volume One features 5 of the hottest club sure shots off the CD, including Cosmo Baker’s “Stunt 101” remix over “Wu Tang Clan Aint Nuthin To F With” and “Shook Ones Pt 2,” Ayres’ “Just Lose It” remix over “Take It To The House” (this shit is perfect), DJ Eleven’s “Bridging The Gap” remix using that King Albert blues break that Diamond broke, and two blends from DJ Crooked: “Bonnie & Clyde 03” over Arrested Development (much better than it looks on paper) and Joey Buddens’ “Pump It Up” |
