You may want to revise that statement considering PMD produced the first 3 EPMD albums by himself. Erick's fingerprints weren't all over the beats untill Business Never Personal. I always liked PMD more on the mic too, even though Erick is great. The delivery from the slow flower was raw, combining with his excelent tone of voice, he always came off as a bad-@$$. For some reason people felt like after the split they had to decide who was responsible for EPMD's success, but people who do that are just herbs. It was a team effort, PMD was just as much if not more part of it than Erick. This first solo album, Shady Business, is a good record. Beats are dark and experimental, sometimes abstract. It has a real original sound to it. Definitly should be in your collection. His best solo album, beats and rhyming, though is Business is Business.
