The first cut is somewhat of a logical selection, as the title track of the album, becomes the title track of this 12". Together with Qwel, Maker is doing "Honestly". And the sarcasm reigns supreme on this song. Qwel's really good at that, and you must admire the short feller for all that he's doing, as he really is one of the strongest voices, and cleverest, as well as most thoughtful rappers we get to listen to. So, honestly, this is good.
As cheeky that song is, as dark and massive "Abandon All Cargo" gets. While Qwel is always poetic, this Lord360 track is spacey and poetic. They style aspect of his delivery is certainly easier to grasp, despite it's complexity, than the actual content of his wordism. But nevertheless we are lured into his spider web, getting entangled in all the syllables. Lastly then, Costume does "Intended For", and Vertabreaker and Concept are speaking. We consider this to be the weakest song of this offering, so are not too interested in saying that much about it. Well, maybe besides why it's not that strong: the simplicity of the beat is almost unworthy for Maker, and the two rhymers struggle to find enough charisma to really attract us. |
