When two legendary producers like Brenk Sinatra and Wun Two lock themselves in the studio, the result is not only an outstanding instrumental album entitled "Tango & Cash", but also a new beat genre that the two have brought to life: G-Fi, a blend of Brenk's trademark sound consisting of midnight G-funk vibes paired with Wun Two's unmistakable lo-fi sound aesthetic, which he established as a pioneer of the genre.
After the first joint demos, it was clear that the planned album project would have to be much more than a series of tracks. And so, without further ado, the two producer kings created a soundtrack for their own late 80s thriller, completely avoiding the usual clich�s. Not only the album title, borrowed from the 1989 film classic of the same name, but the entire concept of Tango & Cash is a love declaration to atmospheric car chases of the late 80s and early 90s captured on VHS tapes.
To create the perfect cinematic experience while listening, the track list is compiled like a selection of film sequences. The voice interludes connecting the tracks acoustically and the album cover designed by W�rn Dauerfeuer immerse the listener in a moody movie set from the very first minute, making Tango & Cash a complete experience. To top it all off, Dextar's analog mastering gives the album the necessary warmth. Tango & Cash is the musical version of a vintage thriller, perfectly transferred to the year 2024. |
