The 1983 album classic is finally repressed! - Recorded with the Roots Radics Band and mixed by Soldgie Hamilton at Channel One Studio and produced by Henry "Junjo" Lawes, with sweet backing vocals courtesy Tony Tuff, Al Campbell and The Tamlins (the legendary trio of Derrick Lara, Carlton Smith & Sylvanus Moore). John Holt's long line of hits - both solo and with The Paragons starting at Studio One and Treasure Isle - has made him one of reggae's most successful and respected artists. In the early 70ies is became one of the first Reggae superstars with huge chart success in the UK to turn by the mid/late 70ies into roots & culture, and in 2004 he was honoured by the Jamaican government with the Order Of Distinction for his contribution to Jamaican culture!
The veteran Jamaican reggae singer was born as John Kenneth Holt on the 11th July 1947 and died in a London hospital on Sunday, 19th October 2014. His music will live forever! |
