Trump-themed 7” of 70’s political funk. The Honey Drippers track is a 1973 funk classic with one of the most adapted beats in hip hop. The song sampled hundreds of times including such hip hop luminaries as LL Cool J ("Around The Way Girl"), NWA ("Gangsta Gangsta"), BDP ("The Bridge Is Over") and Eric B and Rakim ("Eric B Is President") among many, many others from the 80’s to now. The track is to be featured on the AMC Visionaries series with Questlove of The Roots describing in detail the songs importance as a breakbeat to their own productions and beyond. This edition is backed with a cover of Tom T Hall’s “The Monkey That Became President” originally from 1972, which appeared as part of our Funky Funky New Orleans series on the 4th volume. Pressing with Trump themed sleeve limited to 1000 copies for Europe. |
