"Uncommon Species� is release number eight of Zurich based label Phantom Island. Coming on strong with efforts by three different label related artists.
Turning Tides is the new alias for Lexx and his longtime partner in crime, bass player Reto �Fu� Gaffuri. The two have been working together for more than a decade on various projects and remixes. �Give Me Everything� encapsulates perfectly how Lexx' and Fu's trademark sound mixes beautifully with the sultry voice and lyrics of LA based singer and producer Woolfy as well as the keyboard playing by his longstanding companion Dan Hastie aka Projections. A second evidence of Turning Tides' magic comes along in form of �Lullaby�.
Another contribution is chipped in by Florin B�chel (aka CCO) with �Cosmic Inflation�. Last but no least, we have Kejeblos taking care of a Zouk obscurity from Guadeloupe, the track �Vol Direk� by Volt-Face, originally released in 1990. Licensed through French label Sonodisc, Kejeblos refurbished the tune to modern club music standards, or in other words, to make a classic dance track out of it. |
