The holy grail of Hawaiian funk has arrived with this debut
release on Aloha Got Soul. “The Rhythm Of Life” is heavy
on the funk breaks whilst Tropic Lightning” is full of breezy
island sounds.
In 1980, Mike Lundy originally planned to record just
two songs for a single: “The Rhythm Of Life” and Tropic
Lightning”. That idea was scrapped when Mike’s producer
realized they had enough material to do an LP. They
released the album, but never a single.
This is the first time that both tracks have ever been
available on 7” vinyl. |
