Travelling to Syria in 2008, Torky picked up a lot of records, CDs and DVDs just to sample and chop them up once he got home. This is Arabic-sample-heaven with enough bass to make your neighbours wanna join the party. Thanks to artists like Fairuz & The Rhabani Brothers, Ziad Rhabani, Abdel Halim Hafez and numerous other folks that Torky found on mp3DVDs sold for 20 cent a piece on the streets of Damascus.
In 2014 Tom of hhv.de asked Torky if they could re-release his 2008 beat album on vinyl. Due to the current situation in Syria Torky and hhv.de decided to forward all the proceedings of the record to moabit-hilft.com to help Syrian refugees.
With this beat tape comes a series of photographs which are part of the artwork and can be found at www.jakobhoff.com
The re-release comes on double vinyl and has three different covers to choose from. |
