In 1972, Keyboardist Chip Allen Invited Guitarist Bili Sparrow To Join His Band Blood, Earth And Man. The Band Began To Acheiving Some Notoriety, Charging On The New England Chitlin' Circuit. Despite The Strength Of Blood, Earth And Man'S Music Began To Crumble. At The Age Of17, Sparrow Packed His Bags And Head To San Francisco. Allen Soon Followed.
Feeling Frozen In The San Francisco Scene Sparrow And Allen Returned To Massachusetts And Took A New Moniker, The Black Sheep (Of The Family). Jumping To Late 2009, The Providence Based Collector/Dj Mike Curtis Better Known As Sparrow, Who Was Looking To Purchase A Guitar Amp Mike, Contacts Dj Save Had For Sale. During A Melting Mike Was A Lil More Concerned About Securing A Few Copies Of The "In The Forest "45 (They Evetually Worked Out A Trade) While Curtis Begins To Gather Information He Comes In Contact With Kenny Dope A World Famous Dj, Collector And Reissuer.
With Sparrows Blessing The Two Make Plans To Issue The Records On Dope'S Kay-Dee Records.Curtis And Dope Meet At Chelsea Hotel In New York. Curtis Hands All The Recording To Kenny Dope. After A Few Weeks Of Receiving The Material Kenny Dope Phones Curtis To Check His Email That He Finished The Black Sheep Mix. Now It'S Time For You To Hear It On This Record. Unfortunatly In The Forest Would Not Make It Out The Woods At Least Not In Its Original Form. |
