The legendary DJ House Shoes presents Crown Nation/Quelle Blue Monday/Slutbag Edition EP. Crown Nation formed in 2006, as a Detroit based hip hop duo that possesses both an old-school feel and new-school swag. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Slum Village, ATCQ, Black Star, OutKast, etc., theyve worked with hip hop legends like Guilty Simpson (Stones Throw Records), Danny Brown(production for his album The Hybrid), Grammy winning artist Dwelle, Big Tone (J Dillas Welcome 2 Detroit), and Elzhi of Slum Village. Each copy of this limited edition (300 copies) vinyl has a hand-drawn numbered cover individually done by Quelle. Making it a must have for detroit hip hop fans and vinyl collectors alike. Side A gives 5 songs, selected by House Shoes himself, from Quelles classic release Blue Monday. It includes an exclusive song, Ghost Awards, only available on this vinyl and an instrumental version of Quelles classic Deal With It featuring Demark of Crown Nation. Side B gives the listener a unique look at the future of hip hop with Crown Nations debut release Slutbag Edition. This joint features four songs including the Detroit anthem Cut the Lights Out with Danny Brown and Dope Head. The songs showcased the two emcee/producers diversity and chemistry. Quelles distinctive voice and unorthodox cadence draws the listener in with his wit-saturated rhymes and stories of everyday struggle.
