Bristol-born and London-based producer Rekordah takes charge of Lo Fi Funk records’ second instalment. As well as running the independent label Pollen, Rekordah also promotes a series of parties of the same name with EFA (which have hosted artists of the caliber of Mike Slott and Slugabed among others), and crafts his own brand of cosmic, dismembered hip hop, in that wonky style everyone is raving about. “Cherry Coke” on the A side, is full of bubbling sounds that evoke the soda drink your nephew drinks while he plays with that Atari you found in the attic, played over a Dilla style beat, whilst in the flip side we find “Butternut”, in which P-Funk Synthesisers rise side to side with space age special effects, frantic syncopated drums and 22nd century boom bap.
