Limited edition 7" from Fluid Ounce, the label run by Chris Vogado of Zero dB (Ninja Tune), featuring 2 killer tracks by Kids In Tracksuits, who were championed by Steve Lamacq on his BBC Radio 1 show, and have recorded live sessions for other influential tastemaker DJs including Rob Da Bank (BBC Radio 1) and John Kennedy (XFM).
The last Kids In Tracksuits release before the duo go their separate ways, and limited to 450 worldwide, this 7" is an absolute rarity and guaranteed to fly off the shelves in double-quick time.
One half of the production duo is man-of-the-moment Lone, cutting edge king of wonk whose highly respected recent solo releases see him sharing playlists with much hyped stars like Flying Lotus and Martyn.
The A side, "Zone" is exclusive to this 7" and features US rapper Mr. Lif, who, with MySpace hits fast approaching 1 million, has a huge international following. Peruvian pan pipes, crunchy hi hats, heavy drums and squelchy bassline, this is a slab of B-Boy pressure.
The flipside is hip hop that lasts - pure intelligent, tongue twisting rhyming with subtle but boomin'-in-the-jeep beats. Simply the good stuff, featuring MC Non Genetic. One of the most popular tracks from the 90 track 'Fluid Ounce Presents...' DVD, getting its first ever vinyl release here. |
