5 remixes from L.A's finest plus and an unreleased live track. Lots on here. Tip!
Almost 2 years ago Build An Ark released their second album 'Dawn'. An soul lifting double LP featuring musicians such as Phil Ranelin, Big Black and other 70's jazz greats.
Build an Ark is led by Carlos Nino & Miguel Atwood‐Ferguson, also known for projects such as Ammon Contact, The Life Force Trio and the recently released J Dilla tribute: Suite For Ma Dukes.
The band's favorite
producers have reworked the album 'Dawn' which resulted in this strong 12" project. Ras G (Brain Feeder) has transformed the soft title track DAWN into an slo-mo stomper with Mr G's infamous bleepy/dirty drum sound. Deadelus + The Long Lost (Plug Research / Ninjatune) unleash their magic on 'In Her Smile' and 'You Yourself Are The Key To The Universe' to create 2 beautiful
reworks for a roundtrip into space. Build An Ark's Carlos Nino takes his Life Force Trio style ambient approach on his Stargazing From A Rooftop Garden remix of 'Morning Glory'. Next up are GB (Sound In Colour) and A Race Of Angels who flipped 'When Ancestors Speak' around, added their own vocal and synth and transformed the track into some kind of soul/jive gem..super!
An all round 12" ranging from dancefloor material to ambient sounds and live recordings, package. Watch out for the next Build An Ark 12": This Prayer: For The Whole World destined to drop in September 2009. |
