Here comes the highly expected new 7’’ single from Trevor & Lisa on Favorite Recordings ! The first track is an amazing cover of Herman Kelly’s “Dance to the Drummer’s Beat”. Performed by a live band in the old school hip hop tradition, this cut features the rapping of the Real Fake MC, as well as performances by guest singers Hanna Hagglünd, Viridiana Hidalgo and Michael Robinson and percussionist Julien Tekeyan - blended with cool electronics, this is a fresh new version of the classic hit. On the B side, the Parisian combo offers one of its original tracks, “Soundshake”, a merging of several influences with loads of breaks, dope brass lines, wah-wah guitars and moog, as well as its trademark sample and talkbox works. These brand new party cuts are ideal for burning the dance floor! For those who don’t know them yet, Trevor & Lisa are a Parisian funk band mixing live funk with electronics in a very original way. The band, made up of 8 musicians, has toured major French clubs for the past 3 years, mixing its original cuts with unusual covers as well as live "bootleg" funky versions of hip-hop tracks. |
