As you might guess from the name, Jurassic 5 base their style on the early old school sound of people like the Treacherous Three and Funky Four + 1. But Cut Chemist and DJ Nu-Mark keep the production clear of the repetitive sound of some of the old school, and MC's Chali 2na, Zaakir, Marc 7even, and Akil do a nice job of updating the old school 4-MC rhyming style. Imagine the best parts of the Wild Style soundtrack updated to 1997.
