Carlos Nino was the initiator of Build an Ark, an LA based souljazz group, that have released an album for Kindred Spirits, and soon will do another one. He also was the driving force behind Dwight Trible's album for Ninja Tune, and together with Fabian Ammon he has created several albums as Ammon Contact. Miguel Atwood-Ferguson was featured on some of the above mentioned releases, as well as on the Life Force Trio album for Plug Research. This is an album between the two of them; beautiful contemplative work, soundwise, very much build on the use of keys and strings: "Carlos Nino plays Fender Rhodes and a host of other keyboards -- as does Atwood-Ferguson, who also plays some violin and viola -- used sparely but with a majestic sort of tone -- building slowly in the way that Alice Coltrane used the instrument on her most cosmic recordings of the early 70s".
