second album effort of M.I.A. - this time around some big producers on board, mainly talking about Timbaland. But the collabo does good to her hyperbolic attritional style, calming her down a bit and avoiding too many hysteric shoutings. Of course, if that's what you liked about her first release, the frenetic energy, than you will be a little bit less served. But you still get it all, the multiethnical sound clash in an England dancehall style, plus some Timbaland smashers. Good one! |
