Keeping with the tradition of left coast creativity and respect-before-commercial-success idealism, the Highlife Movement delivers collages of eerie loops and tribal messages twisted in the concept of history repeating itself negatively in urban music. This collaboration of freestyles includes Abstract Rude, Aceyalone and Mikah 9 (Freestyle Fellowship), Karen Wilson, Darry Freeman, Ginseng Roo, Lady Blue (the Coup), Mike B and Lil’ Kenya and Dr. Doom. This project was originally designed for the Bay Area Hip Hop Coalition DJs and other college radio programs but has been ‘specially rearranged for this release. Estuary is the complete collection for those who appreciate some of California’s premier underground freestyle talent.
