one of the most sampled funk tracks ever.
this tune influenced the sound of 80's Hip Hop like no other (where would Rob Base have been without this infectuos Drum Break with its "Ooh Yeah vocals).
From the suspenseful spoken intro, to Lyn's vocal vibrato, to the multiple bridges, and finally to the monstrous break that appears twice, you really couldn't imagine a more potent formula. This Urban version is probably the best pressing of this track, very loud and clean, and on 12" nonetheless. The flip features the "Think Bonus Beats," speed this up and you got the direct source of the prementioned Rob Base hit. In addition, you also get Lyn's equally tough version of "Give It Up, Turn It Loose," and "Rock Me Again and Again and Again." |
