In 2006, producer/rapper Newman of the group Giant Panda and up-incomer rapper Shawn Jackson teamed up for their first single, "Go!." The two decided to release the single independently and it sold well, collecting co-signs from tastemakers like Quantic and Andy Smith of Portishead along the way.
After the success of the first single, Shawn Jackson released his solo album, "First Of All" (Tres Records) and Giant Panda released their second effort, "Electric Laser" (Tres Records).
After the success of each album individually, Shawn Jackson and Newman then decided to release New Jack Hustle's first full length album, "Soundcheck" (released October 2008) |
