aka Masta Ace, Strick, Punch & Words / prod.by Nicolay (Foreign Exhange) / b/w Git Some feat. Sean Price. taken from forthcoming album The Show / In 2004 Masta Ace announced that A Long Hot Summer would be his fifth and final solo album. Most of us thought he was crazy to leave the game after releasing arguably the best two albums of his career with Disposable Arts and Summer, but it appears now that he was planning a unique and different way to continue making contributions to Hip Hop. Ace has teamed up with Punchline, Wordsworth and Stricklin to form the new super group EMC. All three were featured heavily on his last two releases and the chemistry that resulted was undeniable. What It Stand For? is the lead single off the now highly anticipated debut album entitled The Show from EMC. Featuring an infectious beat by Nicolay and hot verses from the quartet, this jump off is sure to be a classic. The B-Side of the record is called Git Some and it features Boot Camp Clik Veteran Sean Price. With sixteen songs already recorded, the album so far includes production by Ayatollah, 9th Wonder, Nicolay, Koolade, Frequency, Marco Polo, The Are, Quincey Tones and J as well as cameo appearances by Little Brother and Lady Bug Mecca, amoung others. The album is set for a late 2007 release. |
