A lot of rappers these days are hell-bent on proving how “about that life” they are. Usually, the ones doing the most bragging are the least likely to get it cracking. When it comes to Rast RFC, there’s no need to brag and no need to boast— and there’s definitely nothing buttery on the breakfast toast about the dude’s style. However, judging by the story he shares about his life, he probably had a toaster for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and pretty much any other time of the day someone wanted to get served.
On his debut project, Across West 3rd Street, Rast RFC presents his past— covered in so much grit and grime, your mom probably won’t let you bring it in the house for fear of messing up her new carpet. As Mass Appeal’s own Sacha Jenkins SHR describes it, “You can hear bacon sizzling in the background as he spits his rhymes.”
