Native Face (Native Sun & Cinoface) is an MC/Producer duo that proudly represents Hampton Roads prolific underground Hip Hop community. The two native Norfolk Virginians met and developed their bond as members of the Universal Zulu Nation: Solar Flare Ch. 30.
Their debut LP, “Native Faces”, is a vivid reflection of the Tidewater Region; an area surrounded by beaches and military installations. This stark contrast influences a sound that is both rugged and beautiful.
Cinoface’s production has an ambient, ethereal quality that manages to capture the essence of boom bap, as well as stretch the boundaries of tradition.
Native Sun provides a polished, versatile delivery which allows him to display his lyrical complexity without losing his grasp of the moment on each track. The Native Faces project is truly a perfect blend of both progression and preservation. |
